This series takes a detailed look at the key themes associated with human migration and settlement around the world and throughout history. The series will take an investigative and question-led approach to the subject giving the student case studies, primary resource material, and first-hand accounts which can be used by the reader to answer the central question posed by each book, form opinions about the subject matter, compare, contrast, and understand different viewpoints, understand historical context, distinguish fact from opinion, and use their research and critical-thinking skills to fully understand this key element of human history and its ongoing implications in the modern world. Each title will include: FOCUS ON sidebars, which will look at particular themes or events in history in more depth; JOURNEY STORIES sidebars featuring first-hand accounts of migration from letters, diaries, and interview transcripts; and VIEWPOINTS sidebars in which a particular event or period in history will be explored from two different points of view.
