George the Knight - Children's Literature
Part of the “Tadpoles” series, this Guided Reading Level C book entertains new readers with an amusing tale. George has decided that he will be a knight. He has a tunic with a crest on it and used a paper bag to make a helmet. Someone who appears to be an older brother lets him know that he can’t be a real knight without a sword, so George makes one. This same character tells him that he needs a shield so off George goes and makes one. Next he learns that he needs a horse and voila George finds an old hobby horse in his toy chest.
