Part of the “Tadpoles” series, this Guided Reading Level B book entertains new readers with an amusing tale. The vehicles are given human characteristics and the book opens with a tractor moving down the road and a snail alongside who seems to be moving at unusual speed. The tractor is chugging along apparently oblivious to the line forming behind him, a sports car that is in a hurry and has an angry face, a van in a hurry with an equally distressed expression, next a taxi, then a truck. The tractor with a shaft of hay extending from its mouth does know that there is a line behind him.
