Part of the “Tadpoles” series, this Guided Reading Level B book entertains new readers with an amusing tale. Dog has been given a new coat and it is covered with spots. This is not at all to his liking, so he tries various ways to get rid of the coat. He left it in the store, but the sales lady raced after the family to make sure that Dog would have his new coat. He then tried leaving it in the car—no luck. Next it was a hole that he dug at school. After all of this effort, Dog is taken to the park and lo and behold all of his doggy friends have spotted coats. Now he is right in step with the latest style.
