Suicide - Children's Literature

Teens have one of the highest rates of suicide, so this is certainly a critical topic to understand better. Chapters include discussion of contributing factors such as family problems, bullying, or sexual identity questions, as well as co-occurring disorders such as depression, substance abuse, mood disorders, and PTSD. Friends and family are not responsible when someone commits suicide, but can be critical life savers if they learn to recognize and respond appropriately to the warning signs described here.
