Line, Bar, and Circle Graphs - Children's Literature

Part of the series “My Path to Math,” this volume is a useful and clear introduction to a practical subject. It begins with charts and pictographs. Children who are part of a summer reading program at a library talk about the children themselves, bookmarks, books, and subject matter. Tally charts are presented as preludes to bar graphs showing favorite books. Bar graphs are also shown with favorite subject matter. Line graphs are shown with attendance time spent reading. Circle graphs, or pie charts, are related to types of books read and animals enjoyed. Line plots are also introduced.
