Passport to Paris - Children's Literature

Cover: Passport to Paris

“Crabtree Connections” are effectively glossy pamphlets produced in England—the one in hand being twenty-four pages—just long enough to cover a specific subject, while short enough not to bore its intended audience. This introduction to Paris gets right down to what middle graders are interested in by using as a guide Jean-Paul, a young man of the same age. He introduces housing, his ecole (elementary school) with its odd schedule (by American standards), the working district, city markets, and, of course, some of the tourist attractions. The section on sports is amusing.
